Swedish politician Sören Wibe was elected president of the EUDemocrats on January 29 2009. Mr Wibe is the leader of the Junilistan and its top candidate for the 2009 European elections.

Sören Wibe is professor of Economics at Umeå University in Sweden. He was a Member of the European Parliament 1995-1999 and a Member of the Swedish Parliament (Riksdag) 2002-2006, representing the Social Democratic Party. He was one of the leaders of the successful Swedish campaign against the Euro in 2003.
