More and more laws originate from political decisions in EU-institutions

During 2012 the number of government proposals originating from EU-institutions was 56, or 43% of all government proposals during that year. In 2010 the share was 28%. From 2005 to 2012 the increase was ~15%. A 2010 report by the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions concluded that "the EU affects 60 percent of items on municipal council agendas. The number is slightly lower for county councils and regions, where the EU influences around 50 percent of agenda items."

Of the 104 government laws that have been proposed in 2013, close to a third relate to the EU.
